Blogger Review of Bonefish Grill #hellonewmenu Charlotte goodncrazy

Please meet my Blogging friends Sarah and Kate!

The first time I ate at a Bonefish Grill was several years ago in the suburbs of D.C. with close family friends. I loved the atmosphere and I was very happy with the company and my meal. I didn’t realize until recently that there are Bonefish Grills in 36 states!

Bonefish Grill has Released a Mew Menu Nationwide!

(Don’t worry your favorites are still around like their famous Bang Bang Shrimp and Fish Tacos.) They’ve added new appetizers, desserts and an expanded grilled steaks section for anyone who would prefer their dinner closer to the land than the sea.

From the appetizer sections we first tasted the new Cold Snap Fresh Ceviche (with giant chunks of shrimp in a frozen glass of ice—how cool! Get it?).

I don’t know what that means… but if it means soft, wonderful seared steak with a spicy but not too spicy sauce… then I would happily order the Tataki again! I’m no help deciding between them… you should probably just try both of them!

Of the salads we sampled I was most amazed at the Watermelon Salad. It comes with a feta dressing that was mild enough even this anti-strong-cheese eater liked the fruit, greens and dressing combo. This wasn’t a huge salad, more of a starter size. I would order it with my meal knowing it won’t fill my belly before the main course.

I’m always partial to Fish Tacos and I wasn’t disappointed with the Baja Tacos. I especially loved the yummy lime-crema sauce paired with mango salsa. Be WARNED though, it will be dripping down your chin and all over your hands. Be prepared to pick one up and eat the whole thing till it’s gone!

After being introduced to the beauty that is the Bonefish Grill’s version of a Spicy Tuna Bowl I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to enjoy another ‘bowl’ like this again. Each of the items in the bowl are sort of separated (instead of mixed together) and you can test and blend each of the different items to come up with the best combination of flavor for you. I’m always a sucker for avocados! The sauce it comes with makes the whole dish sing. I have not been a fan of ‘seared’ tuna before. If you are trying to convince yourself to try a seared version of fish—instead of straight up raw—try this option.

Who says a Ribeye ain’t Girlie?!

Bonefish Grill has come up with several new steak sauces to try with their expanded steak options. And they’ve added a 13oz ribeye to the menu as well. I have to admit, ribeye doesn’t seem like a girlie steak to me. I almost always choose filet mignon when I’m out on a fancy date. So when the ribeye showed up covered in a Béarnaise Sauce I was a little skeptical.

First of all, what the heck is Béarnaise? Apparently it’s a child of the Mother of French Sauces: The Hollandaise. Similar in base but flavored with tarragon not lemon. All I know is it was slightly sweet and kind of like an angel was singing in my mouth as I daintily DEVOURED this crazy-good steak!

Make my next steak a ribeye, thanks.

flatbread banana split dessert bonefish grillTo top off our meal we tried out both of the new ‘Flatbread’ desserts. The S’mores and the Banana Split Flatbread. Cute little squares of flatbread topped with either fresh fruit, or chocolate and toasted marshmallows! These were very light desserts and perfect after a large meal, but I would suggest going with the more decadent offerings if you come in after a movie when they are open late on the weekend for dessert.

I’ve already decided for my teen daughter’s birthday we will dine at the nearest Bonefish Grill. She loves seafood and I want to see what she thinks of the Spicy Tuna Bowl. My other daughter doesn’t like seafood at all but loves steak. –They are yin and yang in SO many other ways too.

Disclosure: Our sampler meal was provided at no cost to us. My thoughts and opinions and fear of the ribeye are all my own. The Fish Tacos were really THIS GOOD!

Please let me know if you try that Béarnaise Sauce, what do you think of it??
