Kids Shared Bedroom Space Conundrum
My two daughters are sharing a room…they are 9 and 12.
BooHoo right? I shared a room basically my entire childhood, sometimes with 2 or even 3 sisters! And don’t they look MISERABLE??!
They shared a room back when they were little in our teeny tiny home in New Jersey.. they’ve gotten a bit spoiled after moving to Utah and then in our last rental house… their own rooms, their own messes…
We bought them really cute twin bunkbeds way back when they were sharing a room, but since then we’ve taken the beds apart 20 times I swear… (Do NOT ask me about allen keys, I might shoot someone!) moving beds here and there at this point they aren’t fit to stack back up again safely. The girls would soo-ooo love to have more room in their current shared space though.
Their solution?
A Trundle Bed!?
They promise me (with puppy dog eyes) they will put that trundle away every. single. morning (nevermind they haven’t made up their beds in 79 consecutive days…).
Somehow I don’t believe them.
*UPDATE*
We FINALLY got their bedroom painted!!
Yes it’s really THAT green and THAT purple. Kind of like Barney meets Tween *POP*!
They LOVE it SO much.
My full post about painting a shared bedroom space is over on BlissFullyDomestic.

Your blog is so cute I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. My daughter shares a room with my niece when she comes to stay for the summer. That trundle would be perfect I too love the white one. My daughter is a huge ICarly Fan . That’s actually one of the shows I don’t mind watching

I don’t mind iCarly too much either.. it’s weird though that my nearly 6yrold little boy likes it too??

Trundle bed…. I would have loved that! But then again, would have been the only one in it – siblingless and all. Do you think it will work long-term? And who sleeps in the trundle? I really like the one you chose – make sure and send pics of the finished room!
I forget – did you & hubby ever get new bedroom furniture? I remember you writing about it at one point… hadn’t you still been using your stuff from college? And how’s that kitchen coming along?
And lastly, I’m intrigued – what is this iCarly and csn.com that you speak of? (actually more interested in the csn.com — good site? shop there often? reliable?)
(pps – email coming your way *s*)

My boys share a room and have since baby/toddler age. And they are still alive. Though some days I don’t know how. I swear they are producing toxic waste in their room.

Really?? It’s not just 11yrold girls who do that???
And what do you think of my snazzy MemoryMixer slideshow up there!!!!
They had WAY too much fun ‘posing’ for my photo shoot… they were laughing so hard and i just kept on taking pictures….!

Growing up, we had 7 people living in a 900 sq ft house! 3 teenage girls shared one bedroom. We had bunkbeds with a trundle underneath – it was wonderful!

I love that last bed!

I have VERY fond memories of my sister and I sharing a room and a trundle bed. Makes me a little wistful.

Okay, no teenage girls put their beds away, or make them, or clean their room..but it’s a great fantasy.
where did you find that second to the last bed?
