Quiche Recipe Love

2010 April 19

I love quiche. Let me count the ways:

Pie Crust (yum)

Eggs/Milk/Cream (duh)

Ham/Bacon/Sausage (need I say more?)

Veggies, broccoli, spinach, onions (Olè!)

And….

Cheese (Can I get an Amen?)

I started out with this FoodNetwork Quiche recipe
Only I didn’t have any half & half… and I used a store-bought crust (don’t judge)… plus I had leftover Easter Ham…and I hate nutmeg… okay so I basically made up my own recipe… but I did LOOK at that recipe first…

Oh forget it..
Here’s MY recipe:

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 3/4 Cup fat free milk (hey, it’s what we have)
  • 1/2 Cup melted butter
  • Giant handful of chopped ham
  • Veggies
Giant handful of a yummy frozen stirfry mix of veggies (coarsely chopped first)
  • A little salt, a little pepper… if you like nutmeg, have at it.. (yuck)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (more for topping at the end of course)

DIRECTIONS

Toss it all together, pour into the crust.. and bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes.

Or bake until the center doesn’t jiggle anymore.
You might have to add some tin foil towards the end if it’s getting too brown on top.

Slice and serve with a dainty salad.Your husband will thank me.

How I LOVE Quiche.

I am trying not to judge about the store bought crust. I will look past it only because you have a really pretty pie pan to make up for the lack of homemade crustiness. And if you need a pie crust recipe just let me know. I have a no fail pie crust that takes like 5 minutes to make.
