NaBloPoMo Stands For National Blog Posting Month
The Goal here is to write more.
The other goal? Find a little motivation.
(If you can’t find it? FORCE IT.)
Well I don’t always have something good… and face it… I rarely have something amazing.
Also I’m writing in other places and it’s easy to tell myself I don’t have time for my own ‘blogging’… cuz… ahem.. I don’t! I don’t have time for blogging when my kids are marchingband/crosscountry/sciencefair, my husband is traveling, there are dishes to do and Rolo Cookie Bars to master! (I’ll let you know how THAT goes later.)
Instead of worrying about every post being knock-it-out-of-the-park worthy. I’m going to make a huge list for each day of the month and write as it comes to me. Not stressing about perfection.. um.. not stressing at all.
WRITE. EVERY. DAY.
5 years ago I saw that people were doing this thing. This November writing thing. Whether a novel or daily blogging or keeping a journal each day, it’s not that I made fun of them… NO. I think I was jealous. And afraid. Yeah, that’s closer to my feeling. What if I failed? What if I missed a day? Or worse. What if I suck? Better to not tackle it at all, right?
But folks I’m 40 now. There’s pretty much nothing left to scare me. Looking in the mirror at a naked 40 self is enough to give anyone the courage to write and let it all hang out a little bit. (Okay haha, scared ya for a second. TO BE CLEAR: there will be NO ‘hanging out’ of any Carissa parts in November.)
Maybe next November.
