The Charlotte Symphony Christmas Concert Is Coming!

2013 November 19

Welcome to the Charlotte Symphony’s Magic of Christmas

Talk about a family friendly holiday program.
This isn’t your average ho-ho-hum Christmas Concert.

I mean… have you ever seen Aerialists floating around at a Symphony concert? Me neither.

And when do they let you sing along (even expect it?) during a world class orchestral event? Bring your kids and enjoy the festive & fun atmosphere of this concert!

And how about bagpipes to round it all out?

The Charlotte Symphony invited my daughters and me to attend The Magic of Christmas on opening night. I’m excited to report back what we think of the show!

Get your tickets now because the concert is only performing 5 times the first weekend in December. Shows are Thursday the 5th through Sunday the 8th, taking place in the Belk Theater in uptown Charlotte. There will be 2 matinee performances perfect to bring young kids aged about Kindergarten and up.

The Loch Norman Pipe Band will play an authentic “Highland Cathedral” tune. Bagpipes at a symphony! I love that!

And the Caroline Calouche & Co. will perform an aerial presentation on silks and trapeze choreographed to Silent Night and Angels We Have Heard on High. What a treat?!

The Charlotte Symphony gave me a teeny bit of inside information… I have the SUPER secret list of some of the Christmas Songs during the concert! Some will even be Sing-Alongs… and I am totally going to sing along!

You’re gonna love these:

  • Tannenbaum
  • Little Drummer Boy
  • Rudolph
  • Sing We Joyous
  • Mele Kalikimaka
  • Christmas at Home
  • And of course… Jingle Bells

Kick off your holiday family season in style with 2+ hours of musical entertainment from The Charlotte Symphony!

There’s More!

Handel’s Messiah Concert

The FULL joy of Handel complete with Hallelujah Chorus and everything in between will run only one night in December. Grab your date and mark your calendars for December 18th also in the Belk Theater.

Tickets to the Charlotte Symphony’s performances of SPX Magic of Christmas and Handel’s Messiah can both be purchased at or call 704-972-2000.

Disclaimer: I will be attending the Magic of Christmas concert as the Symphony’s guest. My thoughts and opinions are my own. I apologize in advance for my terrible sing along voice (people sitting next to me I’m sorry for you the most)!
