    We allow the kids a certain amount of time with electronics but then the rest of the time they have to play outside (weather permitting) or inside

    We keep an arts & crafts box filled with old magazines and various doodads the kids have collected that they use to create all sorts of things. We encourage them by creating together and as a family, and sharing those creations with others.

    I encourage children by letting them draw pictures and find cheap and safe things around the house to make crafts with. Creativity doesn’t cost a dime

    I homeschool, so we have lots of time to do so many creative things. Imaginative play, we put on plays and talents shows. we do lots of art with many different things. We use nature and household objects. We make out instruments… etc.

    We make a game of telling stories, or making up songs. We have lots of craft supplies that they enjoy using. They help with preparing, or decorating food. I try to show them they can be creative in many different areas.

    I encourage my niece and nephew to explore all visual and performing arts and buy them books, games, and puzzles that I think may help spark their creative inspiration. I also try to take them to concerts and performances, as well as museums and foreign films, to open their minds to new perspectives and ideas!

    I have a room devoted to it. We call it the playroom and there is a big table and loads of glue, papers, paint, canvases, paint brushes, markers, a sewing machine and plenty of fabric. We do loads in that room. My daughter is very creative.

    I like to give very little direction. Tonight my grandsons decorated a halloween cat with christmas lights and ornaments and a cinnamon pinecone. Might not look like something you’d want in your house but they are practicing creativity unhindered 🙂

    Both of my kids enjoy artistic things like drawing and painting, but I also encourage them to write and think creatively. If you ask the right questions, you can push them in that direction without it feeling like a lecture or lesson.
