While Watching House

To the tune of folding laundry….

Me: I think House is turning all Picket Fences…

Hubby: What?

Me: You know. Picket Fences was weird and funny and new and fresh…and then it just wasn’t anymore. I think the writers ran out of weird. Maybe the House writers ran out of snark?

Hubby: Oh? They already made up a phrase for that.

Me: What?

Hubby: Yeah. You say: this show has ‘Jumped the Shark’.

Me: Who jumped the what?

Hubby: Go google it. From Happy Days. The episode where Fonzie is waterskiing and ‘jumps the shark’, was the beginning of the end for that TV show. (Srsly click that link..The Fonz with leather jacket and all).

Me: Fonzie? From like 200 years ago? THAT Fonzie? How in all that is holy does Fonzie compare to HOUSE??

Am I showing my age or what?

YOU go google ‘jumping the shark’. Sounds like a naughty sex act if you ask me.

Robin just informed me that there IS in fact a website all about this. You can go vote whether you think House has ‘jumped the shark’ or not… I already told you how I voted…

Let me know if you do!

I’m still in love with Hugh for the record.

I have heard that phrase before and have even seen the awesomely bad TV moment, but it sounds like House has actually jumped the SNARK, hah! Sorry, had to do it.

You had me at House. We just got TV this week after not having it for a year and a half and have been watching House almost non-stop. We haven’t gotten to the jump-the-shark (or snark) phase yet, so for now… we are loving the doc, even though he is addicted to pain meds. What the crap?

I don’t watch House (or any other shows, unfortunately) so I have no idea if it has jumped the shark. I don’t even remember the Fonz jumping a shark! I was a loyal Happy Days watcher, too. Darn it! I thought I saw all the episodes. I also loved the Partridge Family. Remember that show? I loved it because they seemed like such a happy family. Now I know they were faking. All those happy family shows were faking. I hate that! Darn fakers! lol! Ok, what the hell am I talking about?

I agree…I think they need to kill of more patients. I mean how cool is it if they always survive? Where’s the suspense? And SO not cool with Wilson leaving. They are slowing getting rid of the snarkyness.

Thanks! I’ve heard this phrase a million times and never knew what it referred to. I vaguely remember that Happy Days episode.

I have missed the new season for the past two weeks. I keep forgetting it’s on. :o(I’ll have to be sure to catch it this week so I can cast my vote–if I’m not too busy twittering that is.

Back again! (Yes I am blog stalking!) I heart Hugh too. He’s way sexy. Have you seen any of his British stuff? See if you can find “A Bit of Fry and Laurie” someplace online. Or maybe in stores? It’s sketch comedy and he’s very funny! And dreamy too. The accent! Sigh….

I have to admit I was very disapointed with the premiere and haven’t watched it since.
